Dave has been Barbershopping since 1988 and has sung baritone
from the start. Born and raised in the small southwestern Wisconsin
town of Avoca, his musical training included singing in his
high school choir, madrigal choir, and swing choir.
His "big barbershop break” came
at the hands of another quartet "Shear Delight," when
they discovered him in a pizza |
joint
(Lana Turner, eat your heart out). He can tell you more of
the story if you ask, we suggest you don’t.
A charter member of Greendale 's Midwest Vocal Express, he has
sung in the following quartets: The Chord Sharks, Four the Moment,
and the 1996 Land 'O Lakes District Championship Quartet, Checkmate.
He also had a brief stint
with SMOOCH. Again, you'd be better off not asking about
that.
Dave has enjoyed golf, softball,
and other sports throughout his life. Believe it or not,
he was even the clown in a trick water-skiing club. This

his broken back. Two further claims to fame were a tryout with
the Cincinnati Reds (we think it was for waterboy), as well
as being the only member of the quartet to have died, not just
onstage with the Chord Sharks, either. Dave and his beautiful
wife Ronda are the extremely tired parents of seven children,
ranging in ages from 22 down to 12. He recently changed career
paths and is currently self-employed, selling to the home construction
industry. It just leaves more time for "The Price is Right." In
his spare time Dave likes to sleep!!!
